PURRMETRIX PRIVACY POLICY

15 May 2018

Purrmetrix wants to collect and use your data responsibly and to make sure you have control over the process. In particular, you should know that we do not sell, rent or trade email lists with any other company for marketing purposes. Beyond that, this Privacy Policy sets out to give you more detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

COOKIES

Our website uses cookies to recognise previous visitors and control certain behaviours – especially the way the shop behaves and the appearance of certain banners.

Cookies are small data files placed on your device when you browse our site to remember your behaviour. We use cookies to store data about your browsing behaviour (pages viewed, journey around the site) but we never use them to collect data on your name, address or other contact details.

You can choose to block cookies if you wish, although this will compromise the behaviour of our site and of the Purrmetrix web service. A comprehensive guide to how to block cookies in most commonly used browsers can be found here.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

When someone visits www.purrmetrix.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

NEWSLETTER/EMAIL SERIES

As part of the registration process for our newsletter and email ‘how-tos’, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer Chris Howell

This data is never shared with third parties. We will keep this data for as long as you are a customer of Purrmetrix, but you have the right to ask us to share it with you or delete it whenever you wish by emailing our data protection officer Chris Howell.

Our payment system is handled by a third party provider (Stripe) which collects financial information (your card details) and clears funds to us so we can ship product to you. Stripe’s privacy policy is here which includes details on how to access and change the data that Stripe holds.
